Current research
Examine the influence of exercise and other lifestyle factors on risk factors for osteoporosis, falls, physical function and related health outcomes in populations ranging from young athletes to inactive older adults
Teaching
Contribute to BSc(Hons) Human Biology modules in Anatomy and Physiology, Human Ageing, Body Composition and Lifestyle and Disease
Katherine's research examines the influence of exercise and other lifestyle factors on risk factors for osteoporosis, falls, physical function and related health outcomes in populations ranging from young athletes to inactive older adults. In particular, Katherine has conducted a number of randomised controlled trials of exercise and whole body vibration training interventions. Several studies have been supported by research grants from the National Osteoporosis Society; other research has been supported by Department of Trade and Industry, and Wellcome Trust.
