Profile

John graduated from Aberystwyth University in 2008 with a BSc (Hons) in Sport and Exercise Sciences. After the completion of his degree, he entered the Further Education sector, teaching on sport courses at North Warwickshire and Hinckley College in Nuneaton. During his time as a college lecturer, John returned to his own education, completing an MSc in Sports Science at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ in 2010. Following graduation from his MSc he continued to develop his teaching skills working in further education, whilst also taking on a role as a part-time lecturer in sport science at the University of Wolverhampton. In 2013 John became a lecturer in sport in the higher education sport department at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ College, where he was responsible for the development and delivery of modules in the discipline areas of physiology, biomechanics, and quantitative research methods on the foundation degree and BSc top-up degree pathways. In 2017, he was awarded fellowship status by the Higher Education Academy after submitting a portfolio of evidence for good teaching practice in higher education.

John joined º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ in 2017 as University Teacher in Exercise Physiology, which sees him contributing to the delivery of physiology based modules at the University. John’s main areas of discipline interest are related to the physiology of aerobic endurance performance and economy of movement.
