Haydn graduated from Robert Gordon University in 2020 with a First Class Honours degree in Sport and Exercise Science, where he was presented with the academic award for his programme. During his degree, Haydn undertook several roles within elite sport as a Strength and Conditioning Coach for University Rowing Aberdeen as well as a Performance Analysis Internship with Aberdeen FC. Later that year Haydn enrolled on the Musculoskeletal Sport Science and Health MSc at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ. During his postgraduate degree, Haydn worked alongside the º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ weightlifting team as an assistant coach, as well as competing for the Elite Squad.
Haydn returned to º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ in 2021 as a Graduate University Teacher, and took on the role of Postgraduate Teaching Assistant in 2022. He currently supports undergraduate laboratory teaching on a variety of modules.
Haydn is undertaking a part-time PhD alongside his teaching role, looking at the neural determinants of rate of force development.
Haydn actively keeps fit through CrossFit training and Weightlifting, looking to pursue both at national competition.
