The School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences (SSEHS) has always recognised and valued students and staff as its greatest assets. To acknowledge this formally, and in collaboration with the Student-Staff Liaison Committee (SSLC) course reps and School Presidents, we are launching the Athena SWAN Student Extra-Mile Awards again this year.
These annual awards are to recognise students who have given extra to the School in a variety of categories. The awards are open to all students across SSEHS – you can nominate one or multiple students for single or multiple awards in the separate undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate taught (PGT) categories.
None of the awards are directly related to achieving the highest academic performance on any modules/programmes or elite sports performance achievements (e.g. national or international representation). There is no cap on nominations but each one must be accompanied by a short description of why you feel the nominee is deserving of the award. Nominations will be open from 9am on the Monday 22 March to midday on Monday 3 May 2021.
