Don’t miss out on an incredible opportunity to meet with employers from a range of national and international organisations at the 2019 TalkSport Conference.
The annual event - which takes place on Thursday 31 January - welcomes students from all disciplines who are interested in a career within a sports specialism, or to work for a sports-related organisation.
The day will kick start with a welcome presentation from Liz Nicholl, the CEO of UK Sport. There will then be three sessions of industry-led workshops taking place throughout the day, led by founders and employees from a wide variety of inspiring organisations. Plan ahead and check out the full programme online to find which sessions may be best suited to you.
From rehabilitation clinics to sports marketing, national sport bodies to sporting law, to CV surgeries drop-ins, there is something on the day suitable for all students.
There will also be a Careers Fair taking place in the James France Exhibition Area from 12pm-4pm, featuring companies such as Manchester City Football Club, Nike Sports Camps and PepsiCo. This is a great chance to speak with employers who are promoting placements, internships, graduate roles and volunteering opportunities. A full list of companies attending the Fair is available to view online.
At 4:15pm there will be a Q&A industry panel which will feature leading figures such as Guy Richardson (CEO of EIGER Performance), Dr Steve Ingham (Performance Scientist and Consultant, and Director of Sporting Champions), Penny Briscoe (Director of Sport for British Paralympic) and alumna Radha Balani (Director of Sport at Beyond Sport).
To close the conference, the Careers Network are pleased to present Endeavor, the parent company of IMG, WME and UFC.
Named one of Fortune’s 25 Most Important Private Companies, Endeavor specialises in talent representation and management; brand strategy, activations and licensing; media sales and distribution and event management to name a few.
IMG manages some of the world’s greatest sports stars and fashion icons, such as Serena Williams. They also stage hundreds of live events and entertainment experiences across the globe, being one of the leaders in the sports and entertainment media sector.
As part of their session, a number of Endeavour’s top employees will be providing more information about their careers and also answering your questions as part of a Q&A.
Students who are interested in working for Endeavour can find out more information about the 2019 summer internship programmes available at IMG.
Booking is not required for the conference, and students are welcome to drop in to as many or as few sessions as they wish to.
