º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ has officially launched its new ‘Experts in Sport’ podcast, led by the School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences.
Hosted by Applied Sport Management Lead Martin Foster, the new series will see experts from across º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ joined by external thought leaders to discuss the latest research and hot topics in sport and academia.
The series begins with a discussion on sports psychology with Professor Paul Wylleman from the University of Brussels, alongside º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ’s Dr Karl Steptoe.
Here, the role Sport Psychologists play at elite level is discussed, as is the development of the discipline, and the importance of adopting an interdisciplinary approach. Professor Wylleman also talks about the relationship with sports coaches and national governing bodies, and how there is no one-size-fits-all approach for his profession.
