Awards are given on a six-month or nine-month basis and are based at the Alan Turing Office in London. Awardees are expected to engage for at least eight days a month (two days a week) to take advantage of the programme’s learning opportunities.
Monthly financial support is available to help with commuting or relocation costs and you will also have the opportunity to loan a high-specification laptop to support your AI or data science endeavours.
Applications from a wide range of disciplines are welcomed, particularly those which span multiple disciplines and fall within the Institute’s key research areas:

- Defence and Security
- Environment and Sustainability
- Digital Society and Public Policy
- Core Capabilities
Please note you cannot apply for this scheme if you are in the writing stage of your PhD or intend to submit your thesis within three months.
