We have a bursary of £1000 per annum for a successful woman applicant to assist them in pursuing their studies at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ and help them develop as future scientists.
Who can apply?
Applicants to any of our undergraduate degree programmes in Computer Science, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, or Natural Sciences, are invited to apply.
Priority will be given to applicants from underrepresented groups (including black and ethnic minority students, those with a disability, caring responsibilities, refugee status, or from low participation areas).
Bursary holders will have the chance to work voluntarily with current Women in Science ambassadors in the School of Science to further the engagement of women in science. There will be an opportunity to become a paid student helper, and each bursary holder will be mentored by a senior woman staff member in the school, who will guide their development throughout their course.
How to apply
Applicants are asked to write a statement (ca. 500 words) outlining their interest in science or maths, what they think can be done to improve recruitment and retention of women and underrepresented groups in science, and what the bursary will help them achieve while at university.
The deadline for applications is 8 June 2023.
