Background

Theo is a Doctoral Researcher within the Mechanics of Advanced Materials Research Group at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ. His research is focused on the mechanical performance of 3D printed prosthetics. He holds a Diploma (MEng equiv.) in Production Engineering and Management from the Technical University of Crete.

He has previously worked as Research Assistant in various projects at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ in collaboration with Starworks and RiHN pairing mechanics and healthcare. He is a Teaching Assistant for multiple modules at Wolfson School of Mechanical, Electrical and Manufacturing Engineering, including Finite Element Analysis and Engineering Science.

Title of thesis: Experimental and numerical framework for improved lower-limb prosthetic socket design

His research is focused on improving the mechanical performance of 3D printed lower limb prosthetic sockets. Combining experimental and numerical methods for the mechanical characterisation of human soft-tissue and the mechanical assessment of the prosthesis, he aims to develop a quantitative methodology for improved design of prosthetic sockets.
