Background
Norman obtained a BEng in Mechanical Engineering from the Nigerian Defence Academy and proceeded to Cranefield University, United Kingdom, where he received an MSc in Aerospace Vehicle Design.
He worked in industry as a certified aircraft engineer and designed and manufactured composite structures for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles for the Nigerian Air Force. A career military engineering officer with research in composite design and manufacture, strength of materials and FEA.
Title of thesis: Experimental and Numerical Analysis of Low Velocity Impact Damage on FRP Sandwich Structures
Norman's research focuses on the analysis of mechanical properties of sandwich structures of fibre reinforce Plastics subjected to low velocity impact damage under varying environmental conditions.
