Background

Patrick gained an MSci in Geoscience from the Unviersity of Durham in 2008, followed by an MSc in Engineering Geology from Newcastle University in 2010. He developed a keen interest in renewable energy (particularly solar energy) during his MSc and decided to pursue this further, undertaking a PhD at the Centre for Renewable Energy Systems Technology (CREST), part of ؛¬ذك²فتسئµ’s Wolfson School. Having gained his doctorate in 2015, Patrick became a post-doctoral Research Associate at CREST prior to taking up his current post as a lecturer in 2018.

  • Transparent conductive oxides for solar energy and related applications
  • Non-vacuum processed transparent conductive materials and development of facile atmospheric deposition processes
  • Optical and thermodynamic solar cell device modelling
  • Solar resource modelling
