Background
Ben received an MEng in Electronic and Electrical Engineering from º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ in 2014 and was also awarded a Diploma in Industrial Studies through his placement at National Instruments, UK.
He continued to study at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ and completed his PhD on two-dimensional direction of arrival estimation with time modulated arrays in 2019. He then worked as a Research Associate, developing embedded sensor technologies and software solutions for data acquisition and signal processing systems.
As of 2020, he is a University Teacher in Digital Electronics in the Wolfson School of Mechanical, Electrical and Manufacturing Engineering. He teaches in modules and supervises projects related to microcontrollers and software on embedded systems.
Qualifications and Awards
Ben was awarded Fellowship (FHEA) during 2020 in recognition of attainment against the UK Professional Standards Framework (UKPSF) for teaching and learning support in higher education.
In 2021, he was presented with a STEMLab Teaching Innovation Award at the º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ Learning and Teaching Conference for his work on transforming existing ELVIS-II based laboratory equipment in STEMLab for use in blended learning activities with Dr Sheryl Williams and Dr Alford Chauraya.
