Background

Dr Behnaz Sohani received a PhD in Robotics and Biomedical Engineering from the London South Bank University, UK. She joined º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ as a Lecturer in Robotics and Automation. She previously worked as a Lecturer at the University of Lincoln from 2021 until June 2024. She is a Chartered Engineer (CEng). Behnaz is a member of the IEEE and contributes to the Robotics & Automation Society and the Systems.

Behnaz is an experienced researcher with proven knowledge and skills in developing effective computing technologies for healthcare applications. Her principal research interests lie in the field of the application of Computer Vision, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to Robotics (including assistive robotics, healthcare robotics, transformational technologies, teleoperation, and medical and surgical robots), implementation and control of medical and surgical robots. She has developed a strong research profile in healthcare/medical technologies and imaging devices. She published several high-quality articles. She supervised a number of PhD and Master’s by Research (MScR) students, BEng projects and course-based projects.
