Our facilities
Explore our state-of-the-art facilities to see what our School has to offer.
We've recently invested over £70 million into developing the west side of campus where the School is based. We have improved our extensive high-tech teaching space, laboratories and workshops which are used for both taught modules practical projects.
Award-winning facilities
We have 15,000m² of outstanding facilities across five dedicated buildings, offering you the opportunity to learn and experience the latest technologies.
Our machine tool workshops, electronics workshop, and undergraduate workshops are managed by skilled technical staff, who will work closely with you to develop ideas and support project work.
Uniquely, we have extensive facilities devoted to the engineering applications of lasers, an area in which our achievements in research and teaching have been recognised by a prestigious Queen’s Anniversary Prize.
A range of purpose-built laboratories covers optical measurement techniques, including machine calibration, vibration analysis and fluid flow mapping techniques and a suite of computer-controlled high power lasers, are used to research and demonstrate modern fabrication processes.
