Wolfson EDI Event: Know My Heritage - 'Argentina'

The Wolfson School EDI Events Team warmly invited to attend our next Know My Heritage event on Argentina, to be hosted by Dr Pablo Ruiz.

Argentina: There is more than tango, football and steaks!

"What does heritage means to me? What has stayed with me having lived in Argentina for over 30 years? Join me for a personal light-hearted exploration of Argentina, a country that boasts more than just incredible steaks and football legends. We’ll journey through stunning landscapes, from the glaciers of Patagonia to its deserts, highest mountains, coasts, falls, and the vast plains of the Pampas, where the gauchos roam. The southern skies are home to constellations and celestial wonders you can’t see from most of the northern hemisphere. We’ll also dive into Argentina’s world-famous cuisine, courtesy of the rich cultural heritage of tens of millions of migrants. I will also tell you a thing or two about what high inflation and nationalism can do to prosperous nations.

Latin America has a rich musical history with roots in the continent and strong influences from Africa and Europe that evolved into completely new genres. I will bring my bongos, so if you like, I will play along a few tracks of music from my home city, Salta, and then some party classics from the 90s and rhythms like salsa and bachata!."
