Prior to joining º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ I taught Industrial Design and Product Design at several other universities including The University of Huddersfield, Coventry University, and University of Derby where I was able to develop teaching expertise in CAD, digital fabrication, and digital rendering, as well as in design theory, design processes, design philosophy, and design practice.
Since joining the university I have developed advanced skills and teaching expertise in augmented reality and artificial intelligence tools for designers and broadened my teaching to include spatial design and user interaction and experience.
I have expertise in a variety of skills (parametric modelling, advanced surface modelling, polygonal modelling, sub-divisional modelling, image and video rendering, augmented reality, etc ) and programs (SolidWorks, Rhino, Fusion 360, KeyShot, Blender, Reality Composer, Stable Diffusion, Adobe Suite, etc.).
Areas of interest include designing products for impoverished communities, design for mass customisation, computer graphics and CAD, and AI.
I teach on several modules at undergraduate and master's level, primarily in the ideation, exploration, and visual communication of ideas through sketching, model making, and CAD, and the visual communication of final design proposals through technical drawings, prototypes, image and video renders, augmented and virtual reality, and producing advertising and marketing materials for products.
I'm heavily involved with the integration of AI tools into design education and practice and regularly deliver webinars on the subject to The Design and Technology Association.
