Research grants

External grants for projects (past five years)

The Accounting and Finance academic group has successfully attracted research grants for projects over the years.

Here are some examples of current research grants:

  • UKRI: Interdisciplinary Circular Economy Centre for Mineral-Based Construction Materials is an academic team led by University College London, together with five other UK universities (º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ, University of Leeds, Lancaster University, University of Sheffield, Imperial College London) and the British Geological Survey (BGS). The º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ project is to develop an accounting-sustainability tool to raise awareness of actions on a circular economy and enables capital investment in CE projects (Andew Vivian, Suzana Grubnic, Longxiang Zhao).
  • Horizon 2020: C-SERVEES is a multi-partner European project to support the circular economy. The º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ team developed a Circular Economy Business Model with European partners that was then tested and validated in the three organisations located in the electric and electronic sector (Suzana Grubnic).
  • National Natural Science Foundation of China: on a project entitled Econometrics modelling and prediction at big data era (Cynthia Gong).
  • CDAF Research Bursary: on Auditor choice and audit fees: evidence from the Alternative Investment Market (Bai Xue).
  • Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD): on a project for Responsible Investment in ASEAN countries (Nhung Vu).
  • Three Doctors Property: on a project to investigate how artificial intelligence technology could 1) assist underrepresented groups in finding their ideal properties in the housing market, and 2) reduce the discrimination in pricing and financing in the real estate market (Frank Hong Liu).
  • Financial Conduct Authority: on a project to study the effects on consumer benefits when regulated financial entities outsource major services to external unregulated vendors (Frank Hong Liu).
  • BA/Leverhulme Small Research Grants Scheme on a project for climate risk and corporate debt policy (Nhung Vu).
  • BA/Leverhulme Small Research Grants Scheme (Haofeng Xu).
  • ICAS: on a project titled ‘The demand for real time/high frequency reporting’ (Ken Lee).
  • Made Smarter: InterAct project on community-based manufacturing (Elaine Conway).
  • Made Smarter: InterAct project on goal setting in UK manufacturing (Elaine Conway).
