Valeria joined the School in August 2022 as a University Teacher in Economics. She holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Leicester and an MSc degree in Economics and Econometrics from Toulouse School of Economics.
Her research lies in the fields of contract theory and corporate finance, with a focus on corporate governance. Her current research projects aim at exploring the extent to which internal and external mechanisms of governance affect:
- the structure, management and survival of corporations;
- the functioning of the markets for capital and managerial talent.
Prior to this appointment, Valeria worked at Coventry University, the University of Bristol, Nottingham University Business School, and the University of Leicester. In those institutions, she taught a wide range of courses in microeconomics, macroeconomics and finance, to both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
