Dr Mahboobeh Davaei

Mahboobeh is a Lecturer in International Business, Strategy, and Innovation, and the module leader for 'Global Sourcing and Offshoring of Services' (a postgraduate module). Before joining º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ in 2023, she was a post-doctoral research associate at the University of Sheffield. She holds a PhD in Management from Free University of Bozen-Bolzano in Italy, an MBA from Sharif University of Technology in Iran, and an Engineering degree.

Transitioning from industry to academia, Mahboobeh brings with her over a decade of corporate experience across various sectors including services, manufacturing and energy.

Mahboobeh's research primarily adopts a quantitative orientation and focuses on two main research areas. 

Her primary focus is within international business, where she particularly delves into the factors contributing to the success of cross-boundary collaborations, such as globally distributed teams and offshoring partnerships. 

A second focus of her research lies at the intersection of digital strategy, responsible AI and digital resilience. She is particularly intrigued by how organisations strategically leverage advanced technologies such as AI while upholding ethical principles to foster innovation and address business challenges. 

Mahboobeh’s research has been published in various journals such as Journal of International Management, European Journal of International Management and Review of Managerial Science.

Mahboobeh regularly attends and presents at international conferences, such as AOM, AIB, EIBA and EURAM. Notably, she received the Journal of Global Mobility Best Paper Award for the Expatriate Management track at the EURAM Conference in 2021, as well as the Best Paper Award for the International Marketing track at the Conference of Società Italiana Marketing in the same year.

Additionally, Mahboobeh serves as a reviewer for several journals, including European Journal of International Management and Review of Managerial Science.
