EQUIS is the leading international system of quality assessment, improvement and accreditation of higher education institutions in management and business administration. EQUIS is managed and run by the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) and its fundamental objective, linked to the mission of the EFMD, is to raise the standard of management education worldwide.
The re-accreditation is a result of the School’s dedication to provide the highest quality research and education across all degree levels, as well as embedding a forward-looking global outlook in our students through teaching and research. As of October 2022, only 209 business schools had been awarded EQUIS across 45 countries. The School also holds AACSB and AMBA accreditations along with EQUIS.
Professor Janet Godsell, Dean of the School, said:
I am delighted we have achieved EQUIS accreditation for a further five years. This is testament to the hard work and commitment from all colleagues in the School to deliver education, research and innovation to the highest global standards.
At the heart of the EQUIS accreditation process is a culture of continuous improvement and progress. Our students and alumni engage with us to progress and achieve their individual potential, whilst organisations collaborate with us to achieve a purpose beyond profit. As we look forward in line with the new University strategy ‘Creating Better Futures. Together’ the School will launch its new strategy ‘Progress with Purpose’ in May 2023.
By 2030, we aim to be the first-choice business school for purpose-led people and organisations.
The School also holds the Small Business Charter Award for our activities in entrepreneurship and SME engagement, and we’re a proud signatory of the Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) in addition to EQUIS, AACSB and AMBA accreditations.
