Mary was one of the stand-out performers at the UEFA Women’s EURO 2022, playing a vital role in England’s success. Mary played every minute of all six games during the campaign as England went on to win the competition for the very first time. The England goalkeeper was included in the 'Team of the Tournament' before the Lionesses were named 'Team of the Year' at the BBC Sports Personality awards.
Mary was previously an undergraduate at the School, completing her degree in 2016 (BSc Information Management and Business Studies). Soon after, Mary became a professional football player, eventually signing for Manchester United in summer 2019 having already played for various teams in the Women’s Super League sides as well as a spell at the German side VfL Wolfsburg.
Mary received a Distinguished Alumni Award from the School in November 2022. After reaching incredible feats in her career and achieving outstanding success with the England National team, Mary received the award in recognition of her contribution and achievements in women’s professional football.
