Summary of project activities and outcomes:
The overall objective of this project is to support the water and sanitation sector in Uganda to develop a long and medium term operational strategy to be applied in meeting water and sanitation needs/rights of Internally Displaced Persons. A situation analysis was prepared and a strategy paper developed, giving various scenarios that could be applied as strategy options by the sector in responding to water and sanitation emergencies. This takes into account the overall policies and guidelines issued by the Prime Minister's Office for emergency response. A stakeholders' workshop was held in order to reach consensus on the overall strategy.
