Meet the academic experts
The SlowCat experts are based in three departments within the University – Chemical Engineering, Chemistry and Materials Engineering.
They are working together on a range of research projects and supporting seven high-flying PhD students who are exploring ways to process biomass to create new fuels and platform chemicals.
Their focus is the development of new catalysts that do this job effectively and sustainably – using biomass waste that would otherwise be thrown away – without causing damage to the environment.
