In early September a group from the PHC attended the International Paralympic Committee Scientific Conference (VISTA) in Amsterdam. The conference provided a fantastic opportunity to meet and interact with other researchers from all over the world. PHC members were able to present their latest research and receive some valuable feedback from other researchers within the Paralympic field. We were also able to hear about the latest research from other groups on topics such as evidence-based classification, athlete health and wellbeing and advances in equipment and technology. The keynote lectures from Prof. Yves Vanlandewyck who had received the 2019 IPC Paralympic Scientific Award winner and Prof. Nick Webborn on “The past, present and future of Paralympic Sports Medicine” were notable highlights of the conference.
Keep your eyes peeled for our winter newsletter to find out more about our time in Amsterdam!
