Ben completed his undergraduate degree in Sport and Exercise Science at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ, graduating in 2015 with first class honours, before studying MSc Psychology at Sheffield Hallam University in 2015, and returning to º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ to study MSc Sport and Exercise Psychology in 2016. Since, Ben has been practicing as a chartered Sport and Exercise Psychologist following completion of the British Psychological Society’s Qualification in Sport and Exercise Psychology in 2021.
In October 2022, Ben commenced his PhD with º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ and the English Institute of Sport (EIS) supervised by Dr Jamie Barker and Dr Carolyn Plateau. Ben’s project aims to understand the mental health and well-being challenges and facilitators relevant to UK Para-Athletes. Findings are expected to inform future mental health and well-being policy developments and organisational guidelines for the EIS, along with the development of bespoke support resources for athletes, coaches, and support staff.
