This project is being led by the Universities of Nottingham and ؛¬ذك²فتسئµ and is aligned to the new £70 million National Rehabilitation Centre (NRC), which is currently being built on the Stanford Hall Rehabilitation Estate in Nottinghamshire. The NRC will be a centre of excellence, combining clinical practice with specialist resources for research and development and innovation in rehabilitation treatment, as well as for teaching and education.
The EPSRC network+ brings together experts from a range of science and engineering disciplines to address current challenges in rehabilitation of patients from serious injury or acute/chronic healthcare conditions. As the network is connected to the NRC, this is a particularly exciting opportunity, as research with patient health benefits will have a direct route into a major NHS national programme, in an area of significant and timely global importance.
The successful candidate will be supporting the activities of the network and performing research into new technologies for rehabilitation. Research opportunities will be identified through consideration of the most pressing clinical need, combined with identifying novel technologies and materials that are likely to have a transformative impact in the rehabilitation field.
