LMCC Access - AACME Students
º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ Materials Characterisation Centre (LMCC) is located within the School of Aeronautical, Automotive, Chemical and Materials Engineering (AACME). If your academic supervisor has suggested you use one or more of our facilities you can simply get in contact with us and LMCC will book a session on your behalf.
LMCC Access - Non AACME Students
If you are a student from outside of the School of Aeronautical, Automotive, Chemical and Materials Engineering (AACME) you can still access the facilities but there is an additional step. We first suggest you discuss your requirements with your academic supervisor. They will be able to provide you with a budget code for the analysis. It is recommended you agree the budget for the work. You can then independently contact LMCC and we will be more than happy to book a session on your behalf.
STEMLab Facilities
STEMLab is a £17M facility located on campus for all STEM students to use. The materials laboratory within STEMLab is very well equipped and students should use this as their first point of contact. The facility is very well equipped to support students' characterisation requests. Analysis can be performed using a range of optical microscopes together with scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction. The facility also has sample preparation facilities available. All students at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ can access this facility free of charge.
The facilities are not run by º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ Materials Characterisation Centre.
