On Monday, 15 July, the Institute of Advanced Studies (IAS) will welcome Dr Yolandi Burger and Zandile Myeka for a special joint seminar hosted at International House and online.
Yolandi, an IAS Visiting Fellow, will present her work on Named after Nelson – a collaborative project exploring how Nelson Mandela’s legacy is reflected in the naming of places across the world.
Zandile, a Metadata and Photographs Archivist at the Nelson Mandela Foundation and IAS Residential Fellow, will showcase how the relationship between the Nelson Mandela Centre of Memory Archive and the º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ Urban Graphic Object Archive has leveraged digital technologies to innovate practices, improve access and engage diverse audiences.

On Thursday 18 July, º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ researchers will join Leicester Urban Observatory and LCB Depot to co-host three events exploring the challenges and opportunities for urban graphic heritage in public spaces named after people.
