Women In Mining Nigeria
Engr. Janet Adeyemi is a recipient of the "100 Global Inspirational Women in Mining" award (2017) and serves as the Country Chair on Sustainability and the current representative for CSPF for the World Bank in West and Central Africa.
She is a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, the Nigerian Mining and Geosciences Society, and the Institute of Management. Additionally, she is a member of the International Society of Sustainability Professionals, the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria, and the Council of Nigerian Mining Engineers and Geoscientists, among other professional bodies.
Her contributions to the mining sector in Nigeria and Africa include serving on technical committees at national, regional, and continental levels. Her commitment to Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) has driven her active engagement with international organizations like the Ford Foundation and the Open Society Foundation, where she researched gender mainstreaming and justice in eight Nigerian states. This work led to the establishment of Women in Mining in 27 states in Nigeria and the Girls for Mining Clubs across secondary and tertiary schools, promoting leadership among young girls in the mining sector.
Engr. (Dr. Mrs.) Janet Adeyemi holds a Ph.D. and has a broad-based educational background, with numerous certifications that advance her expertise and advocacy for best practices in mining.
