Professor Zhen Wen

Dr. Zhen Wen is a professor in the Institute of Functional Nano & Soft Materials (FUNSOM), Soochow University, P.R. China. He received his B.S. degree in Materials Science and Engineering from China University of Mining and Technology in 2011 and Ph.D. degree in Materials Physics and Chemistry from Zhejiang University in 2016.
During 2014-2016, he was supported by the program of China Scholarship Council as a joint Ph.D. candidate in Georgia Institute of Technology, US. He has joined Institute of Functional Nano & Soft Materials (FUNSOM), Soochow University since Sep. 2016. His main research interests focus on triboelectric nanogenerator based energy harvesting and self-powered sensing system.
So far, he has published more than 140 peer-reviewed papers with 16 papers selected as the Highly Citation Article. The whole citation is more than 12000 with the h-index of 62. He has also been authorized 34 invention patents, and 10 of them have achieved technology transfer.
He is serving as the associate editor of Electronic Letters and undertaking the special project of "Smart Sensor" in the National Key R&D Program and the general project of National Natural Science Foundation, etc. He has been granted 2023 Nanoenergy Advances Award and Microsystem & Nanoengineer Summit 2022 Young Scientist Award. He is also selected into the Youth Promotion Talent Project of Jiangsu Association for Science and Technology.
During their IAS Fellowship, Professor Wen is collaborating with Dr Ishara Dharmasena from the School of Mechanical, Electrical and Manufacturing Engineering.
