Mary Fissell is professor of the history of medicine at the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD.
Her scholarly interests include the histories of reproduction, sex and gender, the history of the patient, and the history of the book. She is currently writing a book on the very long history of abortion.
During their IAS Fellowship, Professor Fissell is collaborating with Dr Emma Pullen from the School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences and Dr Sara Read from the School of Social Sciences and Humanities.
