O.M. Beketov National University of Urban Economy in Kharkiv (NUUE)
Associate Professor Mariia Olkhova was born in Kharkiv, Ukraine and received her Ph.D. in Transport Systems from O.M. Beketov National University of Urban Economy in Kharkiv in 2016. She has worked at the university since 2008, starting as an assistant professor in the Transport Systems and Logistics Department. She is engaged in three main pillars: teaching, development of educational materials and research. Her duties are the development of manuals, guides, presentations etc. for conducting classes with students, including international projects such as Erasmus + KA2, Jean Monnet and EIT Urban mobility RIS Hub Poland.
In her current role, she is a lecturer and supervisor of the students’ theses. She is coordinator of Jean Monnet Module “Sustainable Urban Transport Policy in Europe”. Also, she is a researcher in “New mechanisms of horizontal collaboration to ensure sustainable development of transport and logistics systems” project funded by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. She is also a junior specialist of logistics development, logistics and modern technologies center of Łukasiewicz - Poznański Instytut Technologiczny, EIT Urban mobility RIS Hub Poland project.
Associate Professor Olkhova's current research interests fall under city transport challenges concerning the sustainable development of urban areas by the instrumentality of planning, modelling and evaluation of city logistics and urban mobility initiatives focusing on economic, ecological and social indicators. Her work is aimed at creating a sustainable urban transport system as a complex system of interaction between public transport and micro-mobility, traffic and freight movement. Her research experience was implemented in projects funded by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, Kharkiv City Council.
