Professor Anna Growe

Anna Growe is Professor of Economics of Urban and Regional Development at the University of Kassel. After studying spatial planning, she completed her doctorate at the TU Dortmund.
As a postdoc, she worked at the University of Freiburg, where she also habilitated in 2019. Anna was a junior professor at the University of Heidelberg from 2015 to 2022. From October 2022 to February 2023, she was a Privatdozent at the Institute of Environmental Social Sciences and Geography at the University of Freiburg.
Anna’s research focuses on spatial development in the knowledge economy, governance processes in metropolitan regions and challenges of sustainable spatial development. At the University of Kassel, she heads the Socio-Spatial Network Analysis Lab, which combines quantitative and qualitative approaches in the analysis of urban and regional spaces resulting from changes in social, economic and governance networks.
