A worldwide renown expert in Linguistics, Multimodality, AI and Semiotics, John Bateman is Professor of English Applied Linguistics at the University of Bremen, Departments of English and Linguistics.
He was involved in several international projects worldwide (i.e. Kyoto University, Japan; Penman Project for Natural Language Generation, University of South California/ Information Science Institute) and leader of the Komet project at the German National Research Centre for Information Technology.
He works in Natural Language Generation, Multimodality and film and visual narrative.
