Detailed MIS Spreadsheets

The downloads below are useful for anyone wishing to make calculations using MIS data, and to obtain figures over time:

Annual budgets for eleven household types, for all years since 2008
An Excel Calculator An Excel Calculator allowing a wider range of budget calculations for the present year. Unlike the online calculator, they do not calculate earnings requirements, just minimum household budgets. The advantage over the online calculator is that results come in a spreadsheet that facilitates calculations that users may wish to make (for example, charities who wish to use MIS as a benchmark for assessing individual eligibility for grants).

Note: The MIS budgets for single working age people and single pensioners are based on the average for both males and females in that category, so the single working age adult budget is the average of 'Single working age female'' and 'Single working age male' and the single pensioner budget is the average of 'Single female pensioner' and 'Single male pensioner'.
