º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ Nursery is committed to providing an excellent learning environment for children under five and their families. We see successful teaching and play as being central to the delivery of the nursery provision.
Children develop and learn in different ways and at different rates, and all areas of learning and development are equally important and inter-connected.
Play provides a rich method for children to express what they know and, most significantly, how they feel about the world and their relationships. Play is the work of a child.
Dedicated time each day is given to teaching communication, language and literacy. Short, sharply focused teaching sessions take place using Fun Time - a social communication programme, Letters and Sounds, and Disco dough.
The Investigators room has been zoned into learning areas to promote focused teaching and learning. With the art area being transformed from clutter to creativity. Further developments are planned for this room.
The introduction of key person teaching time has made a significant impact on outcomes for children. Key person time is a sharply focused small group session which is planned to meet individual needs but also address any common gaps in learning. This has enable individual children, small groups and whole groups to make good progress.
