Reflect and Rejoice: The University Choir’s annual spring concert

The University Choir will be joined by LSU Classical, performing their annual spring concert hosted by LU Arts.

The concert will be held on Wednesday 15 May from 7.30pm in Cope Auditorium (Edward Barnsley Building). All are welcome to attend, with tickets costing £7 for the public and £5 for º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ students and under 16s. Tickets can be booked via Eventbrite.

In the first half of the concert, the Choir will perform a reflective piece ‘Requiem’ written by Matthew Coleridge in 2014-15 shortly after he became a father. With (in his words) "this effervescent new life, often in the same room" while he wrote, his focus was on "an intimate and particularly human response to the text....a comforting voice". It is a deeply moving work and has become one of the UK’s most popular new choral works.

In the second half, rejoice with the choir as they sing some familiar favourites by Handel, Phipps, Lloyd Webber and Barlow, and Graham and Lovland.

More information about the University Choir’s spring concert can be found on the LU Arts website.
