The Vice-Chancellor, along with 25 Kenyan students and International Special Envoys from different academic Schools, welcomed the High Commissioner and his delegation to campus on 20 February.
During the day, Professor Jennings presented the University Strategy and its international aspirations to the High Commissioner – who also explained ambitions for Kenya’s higher education, whilst Professor Dan Parsons (Pro Vice-Chancellor for Research and Innovation) discussed strategic opportunities in research and innovation in East Africa and presented existing research activities linked to the region covering diverse areas such as sustainable energy solutions, child nutrition and social development.
The International Special Envoys for Sub-Saharan Africa Dr Hibbah Osei-Kwasi and Dr Oluwasola Afolabi showcased successes from our University community, including notable alumni from more than 570 Kenyan º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ graduates. They also presented tailored plans for building further partnerships in Kenya and the East Africa region.
His Excellency and guests were also invited to a networking lunch and taken for a campus tour by Kenyan student ambassadors who highlighted some of the University’s outstanding sports facilities.
