University holds celebratory event for the launch of the ONCAMPUS º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ Centre

Last week, the University celebrated the official launch of the ONCAMPUS º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ Centre, bringing together key members from both ONCAMPUS and the University to commemorate their hard work and efforts.

The University signed a contract with the Cambridge Education Group in December 2022, with the commitment that the University’s international foundation and pre-masters programmes would subsequently be offered by a new ONCAMPUS º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ Centre from September 2023.

This has been an enormous period of change for the University, involving many colleagues across academic Schools and Professional Services. To date, the Centre has welcomed over 180 students since opening its doors in September and plans to welcome many more in the new year, with over 150 of these students currently living in University accommodation and living and interacting with current º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ students. The opening of the Centre has been a great success and is testament to the efforts of all involved.

The launch event took place at the Centre which is based in the newly renovated Herbert Manzoni building, and all invitees had the opportunity to have a tour of the Centre, meet students and celebrate the achievements so far.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Nick Jennings said: “Our partnership with ONCAMPUS is integral to our University strategy and global community – we are passionate about being even more so a globally engaged University and I firmly believe that diversity of thought and experience improves the learning experience for all. This partnership has allowed us to access international students we simply couldn’t before, and diversify our student community for the better.”

Speakers from the Cambridge Education Group also expressed this sentiment, with Centre Director Angela Mogridge detailing her passion for the Centre and her excitement at being part of setting up a new Centre, and CEO Brendan Webb also expressed thanks and recognition for the hard work put into building the partnership.

The launch of the ONCAMPUS º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ Centre has been long anticipated, and the University is excited and ready for the opportunities that this will present. The Centre and the University are committed to developing this relationship to become something even more successful, and we look forward to welcoming the students onto our undergraduate and postgraduate courses next September.
