For years, º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ’s academics have consistently been at the vanguard of progressive research in the fields of dignified living standards, nutrition, health and wellbeing, education and psychology.
For the next few weeks, the University’s PR team will focus on a host of projects which demonstrate how these areas tie in with improving and enhancing the lives of children and young people.
The campaign will utilise press releases, videos, podcasts and social media.
It will include news about how researchers have analysed computer gaming habits to identify trends in young people’s use of technology and how academics are learning more about compulsive exercise by looking at parental and social influences.
It will also feature 16th-century parenting tips, a tutorial on how to find freshwater minibeasts with youngsters, and an array of quirky longer read and infographic-focused pieces.
The University’s Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Research and Innovation Professor Dan Parsons said: “It is incredibly important that our research and innovation directly addresses the needs of children and young people and that we give opportunities for children and young people to take part in the research.
“I am incredibly proud of the range of interdisciplinary research underway across our University, which ensures that children benefit from new interventions that are designed for their needs.”
Past campaigns have included Future Transport, Health and Wellbeing, COP26 and Environment.
On each occasion, the campaigns have generated dozens of national and international news stories – both in print and broadcast.
The success of each initiative has boosted awareness about the specific areas on which they are focussed and has shone a light on the best research from each School.
