He is taking part in Vegan vs vegan – a debate with Dr Corey Lee Wrenn (Lecturer in Sociology at the University of Kent and Co-Founder of International Association of Vegan Sociologists).

They will discuss the pros and cons of plant-based food systems as a means to protect animal rights and reduce our environmental impact. They will also look at the role of alternative sources of animal protein – including invertebrates and cultivated meat – in this agenda.

Both academics being vegan, you might be surprised by their take on whether we can have our cow (or chicken, fish, pig or sheep) and eat them too.

The event takes on Tuesday 15 November, 6:30-7:45pm.

Being Human is the UK’s only national festival of the humanities – a celebration of research through public engagement. It is led by the School of Advanced Study at the University of London in partnership with the Arts and Humanities Research Council and the British Academy.
