º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ launches recruitment for prestigious Doctoral Prize Fellowship scheme

º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ is now recruiting for the fourth cohort of its prestigious and popular Doctoral Prize Fellowship programme.

The scheme, which offers 24 months of tailored support to recently completed doctoral students, is open to outstanding early career researchers from all around the world, including those already at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ.

Fellows will be based at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ (in the Midlands or London) and will undertake work derived from their own research questions and ideas, which will be the foundation for an externally-funded Fellowship application to be made during the course of the Fellowship.

Candidates should be within three years of the date of their PhD award and must have had their PhD (or equivalent doctoral qualification) awarded by the application closing date (1 September 2022).

º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ values diversity and is committed to creating a positive, inclusive community. We particularly wish to encourage applications from people from BAME communities, women, those with a disability and other under-represented groups. Applications from those who wish to work part-time are also welcome.

As part of the University’s broader response to the ongoing war in Ukraine, Ukrainian candidates will have priority for one of the Fellowships.

Doctoral Prize Fellows whose research aligns with the net zero agenda will have the opportunity to be affiliated with the Centre for Postdoctoral Development in Infrastructure, Cities, and Energy (C-DICE). This will include bespoke training and development opportunities as well as other benefits including access to industry/other HEI partners through the C-DICE network, and the chance to disseminate net-zero related research via C-DICE Impact Hub.

There are 10 positions available, across our nine Schools. Further information including application instructions can be found online.

Professor Steve Rothberg, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research) said: “We are delighted to launch the recruitment campaign for our fourth cohort of Doctoral Prize Fellows. We are strategically committed to supporting early career researchers at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ and this inclusive scheme offers a comprehensive career development package for ambitious researchers who have recently completed a PhD.”
