Alumna Earps helps England storm to Euro 2022 final following impressive semi-final performance

The UEFA Women’s Euro 2022 tournament is drawing to a close – and one key player you’ll be seeing in the final is º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ alumna, England goalkeeper Mary Earps.

Earps has had a stellar tournament so far, including being named the EE Fan player of the match in the semi-final game against Sweden on 26 July. During the match at Sheffield United’s Bramall Lane, the 29-year-old made a series of stunning saves to help the Lionesses secure their spot in the final at Wembley on 31 July.

Her love of football started at a young age in her hometown of West Bridgford, Nottinghamshire, and by the age of 14 she was playing for Leicester City.

Earps is now at Manchester United having pursued professional football following her studies at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ. The alumna was first selected for the England squad in 2017 and headed to France for the World Cup in 2019. She’s now received 24 senior caps and is England’s first-choice keeper.

She graduated with a degree in Information Management and Business Studies in 2016 – and she’s not the only º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ player in the Euros squad. Forward, Ellen White, gained a BSc in Applied Sports Science in 2010 from º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ College and veteran midfielder, Jill Scott, was also enrolled at the College on an Exercise and Health course.

The Lionesses have conceded just one goal in the tournament in the lead up to the final, with White scoring two of the teams’ 20 goals.

We wish England the best of luck as they take on Germany in the final on Sunday at 5pm.
