If so, Intelligent Energy – a company based on the University’s Science and Enterprise Park (LUSEP) – is delighted to announce it will once again be offering £100,000 to support various initiatives helping community groups, young people, sport and lifelong learning.
It is the fourth year the company has run the Intelligent Energy Charitable Trust, which has provided a lifeline for charitable causes in Charnwood, particularly during the pandemic when many communities have been hard hit.
Last year, Life Beacon International – a non-profit organisation run by PhD student Ruby Appiah-Campbell – was awarded over £4,000 to help facilitate three outreach community projects with º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ Students’ Union. These initiatives hope to inspire students to give back to the local community; create interest and passion for higher education for children and young people in the Charnwood community, and reduce the mental health challenges young people face as they move into higher education. More information can be found here.
Organisations interested in applying are not required to have registered charitable status however donations must meet charity commission criteria. Further details about eligibility and how to apply can be found here.
