  • Hold two weeks of Graduations with ceremonies for the 2020 cohort being held between 19-23 July and for our 2021 cohort being held between 26-30 July
  • Hold summer balls for halls of residence from 24 June to 11 July in a marquee on Shirley Pearce Square (subject to Government rules at the time).

Other

  • Communications to students will remind them of the rules and restrictions about social distancing and wearing of face coverings
  • Discipline procedures will continue to apply for those persistently breaking rules

The University will finish for the 2020/2021 academic year on Friday 25 June, though activity on campus will continue in line with the activities listed above.

Richard Taylor, Chief Operating Officer commented: “It has been a challenging 14 months for everyone.  We are pleased that the plans for easing of restrictions are proceeding and that we will have the opportunity to welcome back students for a short period before the end of this academic year.  Compliance with our testing arrangements by students is very high indeed and we are confident that this will continue as we move forward.”

Jo Maher, Principal and CEO at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ College, added: “We are delighted that the University is able to work in a way that supports students back on campus. º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ College will continue to work closely with our community partners to continue doing what we can to break the chains of transmission in Charnwood.”
