Experts from the Centre for Research in Communication and Culture to share insights and research relating to Covid-19 at upcoming event

A group of world-leading experts from the Centre for Research in Communication and Culture at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ will be hosting an event presenting cutting-edge research and policy insights related to Covid-19 later this month.

Covid, Communication and Culture: Research Insights and Policy Solutions will take place online on Wednesday 12 May from 2pm-5.30pm and is open for all to attend.

The afternoon will be centred around three focused sessions offering a culture and communication perspective on the pandemic and post-pandemic reality: Understanding, Protecting and Adapting. All of these sessions will be led by researchers from the University’s Centre for Research in Communication and Culture (CRCC).

The event is an opportunity to highlight innovative work that will help us to understand how different aspects to the pandemic are affecting and being affected by communication and culture. The research taking place at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ is also contributing to the identification of policy solutions that address challenges brought by Covid-19.

Attendees can look forward to topics such as social endorsement and vaccine hesitation, reflections on learning and teaching history online, and news and information consumption in the UK during the pandemic.

Co-Directors of the CRCC Professor Cristian Vaccari and Professor Ele Belfiore commented: “We are thrilled to be able to offer colleagues at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ and the broader public some insights into the work that CRCC researchers have been conducting during this most remarkable of years.

“It is our ambition that the event will demonstrate the real and important contribution that communication and culture research is making towards making sense of how life has changed as a result of the pandemic, and how to best deal with its aftermath.”

The event is free to attend and will take place online via MS Teams. Those who are interested can register their place here. More information about the event, including a full programme with presenter biographies and summaries, can be viewed on the CRCC website.
