The aim of the event is to celebrate all things creative including art, music and drama. Staff and students will be running various sessions throughout the day including painting, book swaps, slime making and tie dye T-shirt making.
º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ’s big band society Tuxedo Swing will also be running a music workshop. The full list of activities can be found on the website.
On the day, attendees will be given an activity log which can be filled in as each session is undertaken. Those who successfully fill their logs will then be entered into a prize draw to win a tablet.
Anna Milewska from the University’s School and College Liaison Team and lead organiser of the event said: “This is set to be a fantastic day that everyone can get involved in.
“We hope that the event will engage the community and showcase the fantastic things on offer at the University. It is definitely not one to be missed.”
Everyone is welcome to take part as the activities are suitable for all ages. Entry is free but please pre-register for quicker entry on the day.
Members of the public are also invited to attend the other events taking place on campus on Saturday. The Radar ‘This Is Just What I Saw’ exhibition will be open for viewing in Martin Hall. The exhibition showcases work that schoolchildren created by drawing and painting from description alone, inspired by pioneering arts educator Marion Richardson.
The annual Fruit Routes Harvest will also be taking place - an award-winning, artist-led initiative created by Anne-Marie Culhane alongside the University’s Sustainability team.
There will be a host of educational workshops and fun activities as well as plenty of opportunities to try the fruit and vegetables grown on the University campus.
