The Red Roses, led by team captain and º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ Lightning coach Sarah Hunter, scored 12 tries to brush aside Scotland and win their 10th Six Nations crown in front of a record crowd in the capital.
After securing bonus-point victories in their first four games of the campaign, Simon Middleton’s side put on a rampant display to seal an empathic 80-0 win in difficult conditions.
The victorious England squad also included º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ Lightning stars Jo Brown, Katy Daly-Mclean, Carys Williams, Emily Scarratt, and current student Catherine O’Donnell.
Scotland’s side were also well represented with alumnae Rachel Malcolm and Sarah Bonar joined by current student Rhona Lloyd and Lightning scrum half Jenny Maxwell.
Speaking about the victory, Sarah Hunter said: “Each and every one of us is immensely proud of this success. To win the grand slam at Twickenham is extra special and we’ll certainly saviour this moment for some time. Throughout the whole campaign we’ve performed brilliantly as a team and hopefully helped inspire the next generation too.”
