Prime Minister comments on the positive impact º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ has on sport

On Wednesday 3 April, Nicky Morgan MP and Prime Minister Theresa May addressed the House of Commons and acknowledged the success of both º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ and Team GB athletes who recently competed in the Special Olympics.

In the Commons Chamber, Nicky Morgan said: “In º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ, we’re very proud of º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ being the best university in the world for sports-related subjects.

“But one of the groups of athletes that have been much under-sung in recent weeks is our Team GB athletes who took part in the Special Olympics in Abu Dhabi.

“127 athletes returned with 169 medals – over 60 gold.”

Prime Minister Theresa May responded with: “I’m very happy to join her [Nicky Morgan] and I’m sure everybody across this House will join me in congratulating our GB team in the significant haul of medals they brought back from those Special Olympics.

“And can I also say how much we value º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ and the work it does on sport-related matters.”
