Following the successful taster days which took place earlier this year and focused on Sport, Business and Economics, and STEM-related subjects, the series will be returning to provide prospective students with an experience of what it’s like to study other subjects at University.
The taster days will include practical workshops, mini lectures, plus a range of talks about University life as well as a tour of the campus.
The three events taking place in June and July are:
- Inspiring Minds: Art and Design – Friday 15 June, 9:30am-3pm, James France Building;
- Inspiring Minds: Engineering – Tuesday 3 July, 9:30am-3pm, West Park Teaching Hub;
- Inspiring Minds: Social Sciences and Humanities – Wednesday 4 July, 9:30am-3pm, West Park Teaching Hub.
º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ the series, event lead Dr Sophie-Louise Hyde commented: “These events are great for Year 12 students, as well as being useful for schools groups and teachers to attend. They enable the students to explore studying their chosen subject at University and these summer events offer a range of new and exciting sessions, too.
“From a practical workshop with LU Arts to Drama sessions in our on-campus theatre spaces, plus the opportunity for students to build their own pavilion as part of our Architecture sessions, there is something for everyone interested in Art, Design, Engineering, Social Sciences and Humanities subjects.
“The School and College Liaison Team are glad to be able to run these events and see what a difference they make to informing students about their opportunities at university level.”
Students can find more information and book their place on one of the taster days via the Inspiring Minds webpage.
